Protectors are divided into the following types based on their constituent materials:

a) All steel: The protector is made of seamless steel pipes or welded steel pipes, which are cold formed or stamped with steel plates, and then cut or rolled with threads. For drill pipe protectors that need to be repeatedly used for a long time, it is advisable to use an all steel structure;

b) Full plastic: protective device made of plastic that meets the requirements and is manufactured through injection molding process;

c) Steel plastic: a protector that uses plastic that meets the requirements and is permanently combined with a steel skeleton or metal reinforcement through injection molding process:

d) Steel plastic combination: a protector that uses plastic that meets the requirements, is formed through injection molding process, and is assembled together with a separately made steel sleeve using mechanical pressing method.
