    Electric direct drive mud pump

    Shandong Wuersi Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. has successfully applied this drive system to 3NB series and F series mud pumps, that is, one or two motors are made into flat discs and installed on the input shaft of the pump (the input shaft of the pump acts as a motor rotor), with the motor housing fixed to the mud pump frame. The advantages of electric direct drive mud pumps are obvious, and they have been changed into the following aspects:
    1、 Energy saving and consumption reduction
    The type selection of mud pumps is often larger than actual needs. From the characteristics of mud pumps, it can be seen that the power is equal to the product of displacement and pressure, and the displacement is proportional to the number of strokes of the mud pump. The noise and vibration of the direct drive mud pump unit during use are reduced, effectively improving the economic efficiency of the pump unit. The pulley has been removed, and the motor is directly installed in the original large pulley position, eliminating belt tension maintenance and eliminating belt transmission losses. When the stroke rate of the mud pump decreases, the displacement decreases, and the corresponding power consumption decreases proportionally under the same pressure; When the pressure is lower than the rated pressure, the power consumption decreases more significantly. Setting the displacement according to actual working conditions can significantly reduce energy consumption. 2、 Stable operation
    High fault transmission equipment has been eliminated, and the rotor of the motor is made of rare earth permanent magnet material, which requires no excitation. Its operation is stable and reliable, and its reliability is much higher than that of asynchronous or DC motors.
    2、 Safe and reliable
    Using a dedicated variable frequency drive motor, it has multiple protection functions such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, underload, output grounding, and output short circuit. It protects the motor to the maximum extent, avoiding motor burnout, and reducing shutdown losses caused by power failure of the mud pump.
    3、 Easy maintenance
    The motor directly drives the input shaft of the mud pump, eliminating the intermediate transmission links of traditional pump sets, including transmission belts, clutches, and bearing blocks. The structure is more compact, saving time for maintaining transmission components, and achieving maintenance free. During operation, the shaft head of the pinion shaft is only affected by the torque of the motor and the dead weight load of the rotor. Due to the absence of the tension caused by belt or chain transmission, the stress condition of the pinion shaft has been significantly improved, and the working reliability and service life of the shaft, gear, and bearings have been improved. The use and maintenance of the pump unit is more convenient and faster than in the past, reducing the labor intensity of workers, avoiding belt tension issues with belt drives and oil leakage issues with chain drives, and more in line with modern safety and environmental requirements.
    4、 Convenient transportation
    The elimination of belts, pulleys, protective covers, and other related equipment simplifies the structure, resulting in a small volume, light weight, and easy handling of the pump unit. The warranty period of the motor can be extended to two years (the standard is one year). Compared with traditional mud pump sets, they are more compact and reasonable in structure, light in weight, and have good portability. They reduce primary transmission, and improve the transmission efficiency of the pump set. Due to the elimination of belt tension, the stress on the pinion shaft of the mud pump is reduced, the deflection of the shaft is reduced, and the meshing of the gears is improved.
    5、 Reduce noise
    The direct drive mud pump has no belt or chain transmission, which greatly reduces the vibration and noise of the mud pump and greatly improves the working environment of workers.
    7、 Digital control
    If you want to change the mud displacement of an ordinary pump set, you must replace the mud pump cylinder liner and piston specifications. If the pressure allows, the direct drive mud pump can directly adjust the motor speed to change the mud displacement. The control system of the motor can also be directly integrated into the integrated driller's console of the drilling rig, making controlling the mud pump more convenient and digital.
